The Women's A Cappella Association's SheSings 2015 festival was a magical experience. It was a busy weekend, because I had the great pleasure of being part of the WACA team as Director of Membership, and also performing at the festival both as a solo performer with my looping board as well as a substitute with one of my favorite vocal bands and festival-headliners ARORA.
In addition to all of that, I arranged and produced (with contributions from Kari Crystelle, Binski, and Vocal Mastering) a collaborative track for all of the headlining groups. We chose to cover "XO" by Beyonce (you can read all about the process here, thanks to a lovely write-up by Elle Brigida), and we gave each participating group its own moment to shine. Check it all out! Thanks to everyone who participated!

Oh whaaaat - The Ransom Notes have released their album, Black and Blue!? The year was 2012 that I was working on these tracks - I'm so proud of them for having completed and released their project! "Bizness" is fun and funky, and Kim Bullock crushes the solo. Also awesome to hear my dear friend Ivan Pyzow's original song in all-vocal form on "Maybe, Alright!"

It was such a joy to work with these Wellesley women from start to finish on this album. Individually, The Blue Notes are all so different and so sincerely interested in the world around them and so eager to try new things and explore their music. And together... well I've never met a more supportive family. Huge shoutout to music director Betty Wallingford and the rest of the Blue Notes leadership - such a great team, and I'm happy to have helped capture that team's achievements. Enjoy, all!

Then their music director Mel explained the musical staff reference, and we decided to keep making loud noises together. I love the spirit of this group, and it shines brightly on their first professional EP. Check it out! Recorded by Bri Holland, edited/mixed by The Vocal Company.

I had a ball working on some Kêta (EMG/Capitol Music Group) tracks a few months ago, and today, "Wooden Horses" is available on iTunes! Check it out and keep an eye out for this artist - her songs keep getting stuck in my head, and I'm looking forward to hearing more!
I always love making music with my alma mater, Men in Drag, at the University of Chicago. And I DIG getting to know the new members of the group as they come in - everyone has so much vitality, love to share, and belting to do.

A total pleasure working with owner and engineer, Will Russell, as well as my good friend Ariel Arbisser, Jeff Love himself, and the rest of the funky, always-in-the-pocket, always-feeling-it band. Stoked to get cracking on the mix - it's a collaboration with Lady Jaye, and it'll be in your eardrums soon. If you're in the Ithaca area, make sure you stop by a JLB show!
